OUR VISION
Two six-month seasons per year.
Four "Production" months per season.
Two "Development" months per season.
The ALD Theatre season is made up of one Friday-and-Saturday theatre residency per month, across the course of four "Production" months.
During these "Production" months, our Friday offering involves Theatre Showreel rehearsal sessions and Headshot Sessions. The day culminates in the Showreel Showcase: an hour of 2-3 minute scenes of brand new writing, professionally filmed in front of a live audience for the performers' showreel.
And for our packed Saturday offerings:
We continue our Headshot Sessions and closed-set Theatre Showreel sessions, alongside which we host our "The Stage Is Yours" creative-development afternoon. This offers actors, writers and directors the opportunity to bring along pieces of new writing, auditions, audition tapes and self tapes for feedback and networking purposes. All work is uploaded afterwards to the private members area of the website, along with a recording of the feedback session. This enables members to continually engage with the work online after the session has concluded.
The residency finally ends with a bang: the ALD Flagship Theatre Show. An evening of new writing and audience-led redirects.
The final two months of each season become our "Development" months, with Workshops built around ALD’s unique format taking centre stage. These workshops offer writers, directors and actors the time and space to experiment, rework material and hone their craft.

PROPOSED SEASONAL MEMBERSHIP
Membership is currently planned at £60 total for each six-month season, paid in four monthly instalments of £15 each "Production" month.

PROPOSED 2027 CALENDAR
ALD Theatre is aiming to launch in March 2027
January and February will be used to prepare the launch, confirm collaborators and develop the work. From March, we aim to run four consecutive "Production" months, followed by two "Development" months. Season two will launch in September and follow the same seasonal schedule through to February 2028.
